Meet Amber

Hi, I'm Amber, but my friends call me Tiff, short for Tiffany, my first name. I am in my 30's, married the love of my life in July 2007, and live in beautiful Colorado, but I love to travel and visit new places. Ultimately, my dream is to own horses and live in a one-level rancher nestled in the mountains. For now, I will remain where I am and do what I love—design web sites and write.

* SOLD * My very first book, Promises, Promises, will release in February 2008. It's a historical fiction set in Delaware during the Colonial period and the Great Awakening. The editor (Barbour Publishing) has also purchased the other 2 books in the series, and they will release in July (Quills & Promises) and November (Deceptive Promises) 2008, respectively. Then, in 2009, they will be repackaged for a state set entitled Delaware Brides. Two editors and one agent have requested my other 3 books. Only God knows where that will lead.

I have been writing since I was a child, but the pursuit of and success in being published has helped me realize God's call on my life. Fulfilled in ways I never would have imagined, I thank Him every day for the guidance that helped me realize my gifts and life's calling.

Writing had always been a hobby, a way for me to express my innermost thoughts and feelings in a way I sometimes find difficult with the spoken word -- although my friends will tell you 'shy' is not in my vocabulary. Thanks to the gentle nudging of a fellow author -- Tracie Peterson -- in 2002, I took the next step in my writing career and joined several writing groups, my favorite being the American Christian Fiction Writers. I owe all of the members a hearty hug of appreciation for their constant encouragement and unselfish assistance. I feel a lot more confident thanks to their support and love. For those of you who are also inspirational writers and might be looking for a wonderful support group, check them out!

I got involved with web design in 1997, when I was asked to take over running the official web site for the television series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. That eventually led to a personal web site, covering some of my favorite people and pasttimes. Through a series of negotiations, I was offered the job of running world-renowned actress Jane Seymour's official fan site. That has branched into doing web sites for a variety of clients, including: authors J.M. Hochstetler, Kathy Pride, Diann Hunt, Louise M. Gouge, Susan Page Davis, and Jill Elizabeth Nelson, actor William Shockley (the voice of AT&T) and many others. With the help of a handful of other web site "technos," Eagle Designs was born! Feel free to visit and see our other clients.

Thanks to my many traveling adventures, I am able to bring a variety of experiences to my design work. I have traveled to Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, the Caribbean, all of the states east of the Mississippi River, Missouri, Iowa, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada and even California. Those trips to the "Golden State" have led to friendships and relationships I greatly treasure. You can view my "Journals" complete with photos to read about and visit some of these places through my eyes.

In addition to traveling, I love watching old movies, classic dramas from the bygone era, and wholesome, family-oriented TV shows, such as Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman, Little House on the Prairie, Avonlea, Christy, Scarecrow & Mrs. King, etc. But, other favorites also include Star Trek, Babylon 5, Lois & Clark, and JAG.

I also love being outside, among nature's beauty, as it makes me feel closer to my Heavenly Father. I am currently working as a web site designer and writer. I ultimately hope to help organize workshops in local libraries and schools to help instill an appreciation for reading and books and inspire creativity in today's youth. My goal is to help children see there is more to life than video games and computer/television screens.

Some of my favorite movies include:
The Sound of Music, Somewhere in Time, Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady, Sleepless in Seattle, Pretty Woman, Annie, The Princess Bride, The Princess Diaries, What Women Want, and The Parent Trap Series. However, my tastes are very eclectic. If it's a good story with a solid plot and well-developed characters, I'll usually watch it.

Books are another one of my passions. I firmly believe that a good book can take you away from all of your problems, taking you to a world you've never seen. If I can see myself in a character in a book, it is well worth the read. My favorite genres are historical and women's fiction. Some of my favorite authors are: Tracie Peterson, DeeAnn Gist, Karen Kingsbury, Tracey Victoria Bateman, Colleen Coble, Diann Hunt, Kristin Billerbeck, Pamela Griffin, J.M. Hochstetler, Kristen Heitzmann, Colleen Reece, and Diana Gabaldon.

I also love to draw, paint, sing, and cook. I have one children's picture book published, and a number of stories, contributions to anthologies and articles that feature my byline. My most recent article writing has been for the Inspirational Reader, a service that puts you in touch with the inspirational books and writings you'll love. Three of my celebrity interviews appeared in The DQ Times, and international magazine. Outside of articles, I write both historical and contemporary romance and women's fiction.

My favorite food is Italian; I sing all the time, and I once worked with my church choir to do a professional recording for a music CD of our performances.

I love sports, animals (horses, dogs, wolves, and eagles), and all kinds of music, especially Country, Oldies, CCM, and Classical. You can see my puppy to the left. Her name is Roxie. She's a Belgian sheepdog mixed with what we believe is a black lab, although when we gave her a bath, the hair on her ears crimped like a poodle. So, she might have a labradoodle in her. It's anybody's guess. Perhaps we'll know more once she's full grown.

I love to hear from those who visit this site. You can leave your message through the Contact page.

Hope to hear from you soon!
