Prescription: Amanda(aka: The Eyes Have It - cont'd) Comments Leave a comment - be certain to list title and PAX forum name (if you have one) Back to SMK Main FanFic page mandie - I still have four days left to read, but so far I really like it! Awesome job, Tiff! 'Vette36 - I don't think I've said "great job as always, Tiff" yet, so there ...I said it. Excellent! BedsideBlueBell - Whoa! I was breathless reading the "you missed a spot" scene! Where's the ice? ptamom - The tagalogue was wonderful! You mentioned a book. You are very talented, so now I am very curious. Whaki4SMaKi - Well one day down four to go. I'm really enjoying this story, Tiff. I'll have to come back and finish as my kids are wondering about dinner. Teal - "I'm a mother." She shrugged. "It's my job." Can you say "Dragnet"? LOL! Great tone! I could hear the theme song. Nice job, Tiff. I agree, please give us the other four days! needtoknow - Tiff, I loved it, but lately your tagalogues have left me wanting more. I hope you get around to filling in the rest of the week they had together. Thanks so much for doing this. classic_couples - I am going to go read the rest right now...I will be back to review it. I have watched the episode before, but forget what happens so I guess there is no harm in watching it again. RFKing - OMG! Reading this actually took my breath away. You did a very good job with this one. It pulled me right in ... it was so real. LOVED the "you missed a spot." What a cool, flirtatious game. I might have to try that one out sometime. abigfan - Great one, Tiff! I also loved his game of "here." The teasing and flirting and moments when they can see the truth in each other's eyes are fabulous. We can only hope you have time for fanfics this summer! matahari2 - Loved it, Tiff! I especially enjoyed the gentle, teasing flirtation you put in..."you missed a spot...and here...and here..." (sigh) I'll be looking forward to the full fanfic, whenever you get time to do it! Great job! AmaLeeLane - I started reading this at my accustomed time this morning, but kept getting interrupted, so I decided to wait until I could read it straight through. It was worth waiting for, and just what I needed at this time of day! chplady - Great episode and a great tagalogue to boot ... Thanks again, Tiff. Gee, I wish I had a assignment like Lee Stetson hmm ... 5 days alone with him ... 'Oh my gosh!' is all I can say. Let's just say we wouldn't be playing monopoly. LOL! nectar99 - That was great! Yummy, and I enjoyed his game. It reminded me of another movie where a couple played that game. Raiders of the Lost Ark maybe? Very nice! I thought that was sweet and even had to take a deep breath while reading. Nice job! ScarecrowLover - Whoops. Didn't mean to be quiet, Tiff. Been waiting for the rest of this for a while guess I just got so busy with other things, but anyway I love it all. Love the little "you missed a spot" thing. Thanks for giving us the added extra the show didn't! Liz - Thanks, Tiff! You did good! (as usual) You even answered the question I had about the importance of being on the Barnstorm list. Gotta love those kisses. You do a good job of taking it slowly, something today's TV/movie writers have no clue how to do! Yay, Tiff! BillyBlueNote - I thought about "Raiders.." at that moment, too! It would make sense that Lee saw that movie and borrowed a page from Indy! Oh! Too bad Amanda and Lee didn't end up like they did in the movie though! Now that would be way off canon! Great tagalogue! HeartPendant - OH MY GOSH! This was so awesome! I loved it! You sure do have it, Tiff! I enjoyed every word, movement, and thought! Too cute about the Bedside Bluebell exchange. I was hoping they would get around to it! Thanks ... Only one problem. You can't keep us hanging like this ... well, I guess you can ... and to tease us like so ... I'll be biting my finger nails until I can get on the computer tomorrow morning! Can't wait! lena_hope - Wonderful, bring on day two! I can't wait! Drill Sergeant Nurse Amanda to the rescue! Lee Stetson, you will be cured for good but addicted to Amanda for the rest of your life! I am also doubly glad that I will get to read the rest of the rest and relaxation days as well as the tagalogues for the eps! Thanks a bunch, Tiff! I tell you, I don't think that I can watch an ep now without reading the tagalogue too! Keep those wonderful Lee and Amanda moments coming! Jude4247 - Can I just say that I love it that this story has finally appeared? I know it's been out for some time, but I'm just getting to give you feedback on it. I was so excited the day I saw it posted. You know how I love your tagalogues and to have a longer version of one? Yippee! I love that you extended this one. Five days alone with Lee? Well, let me just say that Amanda is not the only one feeling that tremor of anticipation." I'm sure all of your readers are too, at least I know I am. Amanda calling Lee, "Mr. Smoothie". It instantly made me think of the ice cream truck that used to come down through the neighborhood when I was a kid, but I digress. I love the fact that Amanda outranks Lee and therefore has authority over him. The fact that she gets him to leave his car at the Agency is a big step, I feel. I think if it were anyone else but Amanda, he would have either refused to leave it there, or would have found a way to go back and get it before she wanted him to. Amanda making him that soup is making me so hungry. Tiff you have that ability while talking about food preparation to make my mouth water. Have you ever thought about being a food critic or writing cookbooks. LOL! The phone call to the house. Typical Dotty with all the questions. What a wonderful character they created on the show and to be able to carry her characteristics over into fanfic has to be a hoot! She's a riot! Typical Philip heard in the background saying he got to stay up late since his grandma was in charge. I loved that part and could hear him saying that, definitely! Loved Lee's technique while eating the hot soup on the couch. I do the same thing with the pillows. Great idea, Lee. It does help! Loved that Lee brought up the subject of the Bedside Bluebell outfit. And Amanda even got a compliment out of it. Way to go, Lee! When Amanda asks Lee if she is going to have to get forceful. I love how you have Lee considering that for a moment. It's just so him. Love how uncomfortable it made Amanda too because that is so her! Awh, shucks, too bad he didn't persue the issue. I know, I know, keeping it in context. It would have been *quite* interesting for them both, I'm sure though. Another compliment from Lee, I love it. His "I can see why your boys are so well mannered and love you so much." That is so sweet. It meant a lot to Amanda, I'm sure. That was touching. I know Lee needed to get his rest, but I half wished that when Lee started talking about his mother and father, that Amanda would have let him talk some. I know he was already way past exhaustion, but a part of me would have loved to hear more of what he was going to say. Now, this next part, I have to say, I was "all up into." Amanda's thoughts about what drew her to Lee, her feature for feature gazing while he had his eyes closed. How her feelings made her want to distant herself. It set up the next part so well. Have to say, the favorite part was her kissing his bruise. How he kept his eyes closed but was smiling as he showed her the spots she missed. The squeeze of his hand encouraging her. Then his eyes open to look into hers to see if she was going to kiss the last place he touched, his lips. Your writing just draws you in and makes you feel as if you are experiencing all that Amanda is. Or maybe it's just me trying to live vicariously. Either way, it's wonderul. His look when he is waiting to see if she would kiss him on the mouth. Tenderness in his eyes and an obvious challenge. I love it! I love how Day 1 ends. All the thoughts going through Amanda's mind about how hard it was going to be to spend all that time with Lee and trying to keep her feelings to herself. How she thought of the looks in Lee's eyes and how she thought if what she was seeing in his eyes was true, she may not be the only one who was struggling. I can't help but shake my head as I read and say, "Yes!" Great job on Day 1, Tiff. Although I expected it. smkukfan - I have been having trouble trying to read this. Why oh why do people expect you to do your job when you're trying to read one of Tiff's tagalogues? There should be a law! Anyway, loved it. LOL! The way you start up with the "Mr. Smoothie" line is great. Funny. Amanda's one lucky housewife, but Tiff's not responsible for that... Five days alone with Lee Stetson. Me please. I volunteer! Ooh, an interesting experience? I certainly hope so! Amanda had to tug him in after her? Tugging? He needs tugging in? Can I tug him? I like how she's on to him straight away. "Aww, shucks!" You're not kidding! Oh, she's not the only one having a hard time hiding her grin. Me too, but I'll try and behave for the rest of this... Hmm, good fall back position, Amanda, after you told him you're going to make sure he lies down and rests. Ack! Everything sounds like innuendo to me today. Hopefully, you won't have noticed... Anyway, what I meant was that I like the way Amanda slips into Mom-mode to stay in control of the situation... "...ordered that you get five days of bedrest and relaxation. I intend to make sure you do." (whines) Tiff, you are *not* making this easy for me you know... (evil laugh) Oh, noticed the way Lee draws out her name, did ya? (grins) Wait a minute, you mean it hasn't even started yet? Eek, I'll never keep this pace up. "All right, Scarecrow, let's go! To the couch!" Oh jeez! I never used to think like this. Anyone have any ice? Or air-conditioner? I'm all hot here...and it's all in my sordid little mind... What happens to me when the fun really starts? One call three days ago ... he thinks that should be enough to explain Amanda's absence? "Yes, ma'am!" Ooh! The drawl! Love it! I like the way you bring in lines/stuff from other episodes and this was really funny ... Zzzz ... Sorry, nodded off during the cooking. I'm tellin' ya. Canned is fine. You are *only* getting canned if you come to my house. Oh, and it would be helpful if you could bring a can with ya...because there's no actual food in my house... I'll just say can, can opener, microwave, two minutes, done...and no hideous veggies to have to deal with ... Oh, and who eats at a table? I don't even own a table to eat at...What's the point of having a lap if you don't use it? This isn't really commenting on the story is it? Sorry...just getting into the flow. Eeek! More innuendo...at least in my totally corrupted mind. Definitely stopped now. Really. I mean it. I could have made another remark here...but I promised not to. Aww, so he noticed her Bedside Bluebell outfit. I'm glad. Hmm, grueling schedule and an injury making Lee sound silly. LOL! Maybe I can use that for my defense? Wait, now she's happy to be on the Barnstorm List? Oh yeah, how is it to be on a list of people who are in line for exposure and possible 'termination'? Okay, okay, I guess that's not the point... "You know, for a thirty-six-year-old man, you certainly complain like a little boy!" ROTFLOL! You're not kidding! He certainly does... "Now, are you going to lay down, or am I going to have to get forceful?" (bangs head on wall) I'm trying to hold in the comments...but come on Tiff...this is way too hard...See, it's not *just* me! Even Lee's having a hard time keeping his mind out of the gutter... And, I for one am *not* thankful he changed his mind against taking her up on her threat. Grrrr! ... yeah, right, Lee ... liking to sleep on your left side is why you shift your position to lay down behind Amanda! This man is very sneaky, fortunately! Way to reel her in! He'll get Amanda warmed up somehow. See? I knew she'd get to my level eventually...just took a little, er, persuasion, right? Oh, and Amanda, the reason you don't want to let go just yet is the L word ... not a favorite of mine, as some folks will tell you...ARGH! Just *tell* him! Oh, yeah, canon...grrr, darned canon... Amanda! Kissing Lee? I'm shocked! (winks) "You missed a spot." LOL! Good job I don't have a drink or I'd be wiping it up right now. Summoning every bit of strength she had, she managed to croak out, "Oh?" Wow! I'm *almost* speechless myself ... nah, never happen! Now *our* Amanda would never back away from a challenge, would she? About time! Who cares about canon? LOL! Besides, who says this isn't? Not me! Her mouth lingered on his, and he responded. It's about time! But, only a "little" ... rats! Come on man, are you a former playboy or what? Ahh, the twinkle in his eyes. At least he hasn't lost "it" completely. LOL - She even rambles in her thoughts. Well, I seem to have written more than Tiff, or it seems so. Only four more to go Tiff. Are you still sure you want me to continue? Because I don't *have* to. Up to you. (grins) Thanks, Tiff! ForeverSMK - Day 3! Day 3! Day 3! Day 3! needtoknow - Thanks Tiff, that was wonderful. I will be patiently waiting for the rest. ScarecrowLover - Hmm, now I have an urge to play Scrabble and there's no one here to play with. Oh well, thank goodness for computer players. (grins) Thanks, Tiff! OhMyGosh - If I were Amanda (Ooh! Wouldn't that be fun!) and I found out Lee had gone JOGGING, he would have ended up with a lapful of pasta and sauce! Looking forward to more! HeartPendant - WOW! A perfect way to end that game ... It's hard for me to play Scrabble ... too much time spent on looking up words on the dictionary! What an awesome 2nd day! I can't wait for the 3rd day! No pressure, though! Thanks again, Tiff! chplady - Hmm, in my post for the first day, I said if Lee stetson were my assignment, we wouldn't spend the time playing monopoly...Ok, maybe I meant to say scrabble. Although coming up with the words for them the way you did was just perfect! On to day 3 ... hopefully. KingWoman - I know it can't be easy to stay in canon, write a whole day's worth of dialogue, etc...but you make it look so easy. So can you blame us for wanting more? I swear I don't know how you do it, but you really do pull from the show and extend it really well. As if we get an EXTRA dose of SMK. Now who among us would refuse THAT medication! JustBrowsing - These are awesome, Tiff! Hey, I actually vacuumed tonight. Try to do it once a week whether it needs it or not ... Oooh, I love double meanings about keeping score and why it's important! ... Wait? She's leaving? I would have thought she would have been there more. If I was being paid by the hour to play games with Lee, I'd be going for overtime! Day 3 ... please, please, please... lena_hope - Encore! Encore! Wow, Tiff! A nice game of Scrabble and another great dinner! Sounds like a nice evening to me! Sheesh, I would just sit there and count the tiles on the ceiling, if it meant that I could do it with Lee. LOL! I'm really looking forward to day 3 appearing ... hopefully! You are giving me something to look forward too with this 5-parter, so no rush! I like the way that it's trickling in, just like Amanda & Lee's relationship! Allows the anticipation to build! smkukfan - Lee knew he had to keep a clear head. He'd better not! I'm sorry, but that would have to be one INCREDIBLY special person to make me clean up LOL! Okay, so she is to him, I'm just saying...I don't do clean! ... Ahem! Excuse me? Hasn't Billy got Amanda on the clock for this assignment? So she turns up at lunch time ... and leaves early! I think Billy should be told! Her pay should be docked ... especially since she's getting the higher rate for this! "Your apartment's actually clean!" LOL! Four words no one will ever say to me! Ha! If it weren't for Billy, Lee would be out in the field instead of here with Amanda. Gotta love Billy! Good save, Tiff! I was wondering for a second how Amanda knew about the backgammon reference, then there it was: "he told her about"... phew! And there's that double meaning stuff again. To be continued. Rats again! MusicBox - This is one heck of a story so far! Hmm, caring about someone and not expecting anything in return. Um, yeah, Lee, it's called L-O-V-E. Try it sometime! Leslie was only a distraction. THANK YOU! Can I stop beating my head against the wall now? This little snippet about Leslie being a replacement for Amanda says a whole lot to me. I love it. There's that vulnerability and uncertainty that you just don't see in any other aspect of his life than with her. The show touched on it but there was so much more to explore in that area. I think that's my favorite line in this one ... Here's another point. Lee wondering if he should risk their current relationship on a chance for something more. I thought a lot about this one last night. Could they have remained just friends? Each was so jealous they'd never have dated anyone else anyway. They are BEST friends. There's already that bond there. You've got way more than a *chance* Big Fella! Every thought he had brought him right back to her. (sigh) Reminds me of a song from way back when. Cher & Peter Cetera. Anyone remember it? It's called *After All*. LOL! Cleaning. Number one noticable change! LOL! Don't let her think you were waiting for her or anything ... (cough, sputter) Geesh! You'd think after all of these I've read, I'd have learned! I think *we* have something in mind to pass the time, but is it really appropriate? LOL! ... Hmm, milking Amanda's nursing for all it's worth. I expected nothing less! See, he can be a *typical* male! ... LOL! Backgammon! Ooh, another double meaning! And another one with the keeping score. ROFL! Oh, what's the matter, Lee? Sore loser? That's not good, Lee! Hello! They're getting REALLY good at these double meanings, here! They both know it too! ... LOL! Gotta love the words they came up with in Scrabble. I was pretty sure they'd be *appropriate* words for them! That's just too much! I love it! His thoughts must have been written on his face, because Amanda immediately backed up another two steps and placed her hand on her heart necklace. She moved it back and forth on the chain as she watched him, their gazes locked. Whoa! Holy heatwaves, Tiff! LOL! They might need my ice for the heat! Whew! (fanning self since the A/C is turned off) Nothing explicit, but wow! ... Aww, she's going to call him later? Now there's a conversation I'd love to hear ... yes, that's a blatant hint. Day two was great, Tiff! (Like I expected otherwise!) Amanda's gonna have to come up with some really unique ideas for the next three days! ScarecrowLover - So, did Lee pick Star Wars or Indiana Jones? smkukfan - Ooh! I'm the first to read this part! Yay! Thinking about spending another day with Lee would make me warm too! Anticipation? Definitely! Hmm, Lee doing something drastic about not having his car longer than 5 days. Another fanfic in and of itself! (grins) Question. Who hangs up a nightdress in the closet? Don't you just shove it under your pillow? LOL at Philip and Jamie fighting over the seat where they thought the most food was. I always thought they had 'assigned' seats, but this is funny. Amanda pointing at them with the spatula in her hand sounds very 'Amanda' to me. Hmm, late hours at work, Amanda? Are you sure you're telling your mother the truth? (winks) See? Even Dotty knows. Love her subtle questions. I sense a fishing expedition. I'm also noticing the deliberate evasion, by the way. LOL! Way to go, Dotty! You know your daughter's spending time with a 'gentleman friend.' Hmm, answering a question with a question, Amanda? Telling. Love Philip and Jamie watching in amusement as their mother gets grilled. Smart kids. So, the Agency techniques didn't give Amanda her interrogation skills? (grins) Good old, Dotty. The old reverse psychology approach. Don't think we don't know. Oh, way to pique Dotty's interest there, Amanda. And bad Amanda for taking advantage of Dotty letting you off the hook. LOL! Dotty's going with Edna Gilstrap to find something to plant under the kitchen window. Don't even bother, Dotty. Hey! That "mangy mutt" is Lee you're talking about! LOL! No worries. Amanda will enjoy her time with her 'friend' very much! Oh, sneaky way to kill time, Tiff. I know several of us questioned that in day 2. I like this excuse better. (grins) Aww, poor baby. Miss her, did you, Lee? Oh, his good looks would make me take a deep breath too! Lee? Dangerous? Definitely! I *love* the movie selection. No mushy ones for Lee Stetson, huh? Ooh! The drawn out "Amanda." Love it! Yes! Sarcasm. Very Lee. Ugh! Amanda asks what you want to talk about, and you engage in shop talk? Talk about a missed opportunity! Way to go, Amanda. No shop talk. Good move! LOL! Amanda? Trying on someone's patience? I think I recall Lee telling her that a number of times. (grins) Ahh, the hand through the hair gesture. Do that several times a day! Yes, movie time! Ooh! An opportunity to snuggle with Lee. I'll take it! Oh wait, it's Amanda. Oh well, I can enjoy it anyway. No, no, don't remove your arm. Then again...I always love the locking eyes. Mmm! It's getting warm in here! Great stuff! Now, where's the next part? ScarecrowLover - Thanks Tiff! Yeah, yeah. I know it's not a good idea to read these and go to bed knowing the way my brain works, but I don't mind the results. (winks) PART (DAY) FIVE -- AND SUMMARY REMARKS SMK720 - LOVE a good game of double entendres. You captured that quite well during those games they played. ElioraJoy - I loved this story and even managed to read the gibberish in Day 5. Glad you were able to fix that. I love how you can stay in canon, but still show all the feelings they are dealing with. classic_couples - I love it! Absolutely loved it. I had read the first part before but had to read it all again. I wouldn't have been able to hang on for 5 days. That is where I need help in my stories: making them longer! Rambler - I really enjoyed it Tiff. Awesome job! It's hard to pick a favorite part. You have such a unique insight into the characters and make it so the tagalogues seem like they were really a part of the actual show. cubscoutlady - That was a real treat for me, Tiff! Believe it or not, I haven't watched even one episode of SMK since PAX cancelled it. After reading your tagalogue all the reasons that I LOVE SMK came flooding back! I really do miss it! You have such a gift for keeping our favorite spies in character! Thanks again for letting me read it. I do miss your endings to the episodes. moosemonger - Even before I start reading I'm thinking, 'just what the doctor ordered'! But ignore me! "Whether she wanted to admit it or not, her attraction to Lee was like a bear to honey." A bear to honey huh? Is that like pooh bear then? Love it though! Thanks muchly for sending it across the ocean. Oh, and I did catch the bit after the 'bear to honey' ... just loved the imagery that came to my head ... Now, if only to read some of your novel. (grins) lena_hope - Favorite parts, are you kidding? They're all my favorite! From day two I really like the scrabble game. I also like when I think it is day three or maybe day four when they are playing Gin and having that coded or perhaps not so coded conversation about their relationship. I also loved the picnic and the Frisbee playing. I thought that was really sweet. Oh yeah, and I liked the part when Francine visits and catches them at it again. I like the ending when Lee only gives her a peck on the cheek and then says, "Next time I won't miss." That was an A+ for the Smooch Writer! Like I said, they're all my favs! It really was a job well done! You never cease to amaze me with your talents! Awestruck! In fact, I was inspired with my own writing and even inspired enough to try my hand at another story. I am going to start brainstorming tommorrow. These other days were well worth the wait, and were all that was promised. Wonderful as always! lena_hope (2) - Wow Tiff! Wow! As I am trying to recover from Lee's five day recovery, I am speechless. I am an Amanda Ramble without the ramble at the beauty of your writing and the aura of romance that surrounds each word. It really is awesome the way that you developed these five days of Lee's recovery/Amanda's assignment. I have to admit, with all of the meals that Amanda and Lee prepared I was getting a little hungry, especially for some fresh homemade bread. I have to agree with some of the others in that I too was reminded of all the reasons that SMK has become a very special part of my life. This particular tagalogue was so delicious (pardon the pun but I had to use it after all those dinners and lunches with Lee), that I took notes while I was reading it. I also have to admit that I too somehow got the image of Pooh and the Honey Pot, perhaps because my nephew had been at my house earlier on in the day but my mind most assuredly returned to the dynamic duo. As well to reassure you, romance doesn't necessarily always thrive with experience but develops out of those whose heart is not big enough to hold all of the love that it has inside. Wonderful job as always. Back to SMK Fan Fiction |
