Season One - tagaloguesComments Leave a comment - Please provide episode name and codename (if you have one) Season One | Season Two | Season Three | Season Four Back to SMK Main FanFic page Spins2 - Tiff, another great one as usual. You are a terrific writer and capture Lee and Amanda's characters perfectly! animalnurse - Well ... If Lee was wearing boxers ... maybe Amanda saw a side of him that she had never seen before! (grins) Whaki4SMaKi - Thanks for the tagalogue. For a minute there I thought for sure I was watching the show. You really paint vivid descriptions. barnstormer - It was fun to read a new one. I liked the idea that she couldn't remember what Dan looked like. I mean Dean. lol. Good job, Tiff. Karthy - A great tagalogue! Thank you. You really know how to capture them. You can tell us, too. You were working in the hospital that day, weren't you? ElioraJoy - Thanks, Tiff. That was awesome. If they don't show the other one ... Santa's Got a Brand New Bag ... you could put it up after the SMK run or when Christmas things come in the stores, whichever comes first. eeyore - You always do a great job, Tiff, but I agree that this one had an especially canonical feel to it. Often it's the little things, like Amanda ducking her head when she turns back around to look at Lee after accidently walking in on him...a relatively small thing unless you know these characters the way we have all come to know them. For us, this is immediately recognizable as an Amanda trait. HeartPendant
- This was a great tagalogue! Thank you! I agree ... it's the little
things in your tagalogues that captures the "TRUE" character
of Lee, Amanda, and the rest of the SMK personalities! matahari2 - Wow, Tiff! I loved this tagalogue...the humor and the obvious hints of romance that you brought out were terrific! You did a great job of bringing out the elements we knew were there (the LOADED "Merry Christmas, Amanda" and the look in his eyes that were there in the original, for instance), and making them so clear and real! It's a shame the J. Bartlett team of writers failed to pick up on those things the way you have! Thanks again -- great job! JustBrowsing - LOL! OK, Tiff, what exactly did she see when she walked in? I would use my imagination, but it seems to be way down in the gutter! Interesting! Loved that part! Great tagalogue ... I was surprised that he seemed to be so content in his lonely world - alone in a hospital with a bottle on Christmas. Guess he does have some growing up to do in the next couple of seasons. Your writing is perfectly in canon (as always). Thanks again! Love these! NotExactly - I'll just echo what everyone else here has said-you totally capture Amanda and Lee and it's incredibly easy to picture them doing the things you wrote. I loved how Amanda kept brushing off his compliments. That is so truly Amanda-ish! "Well, I appreciate you stopping by. Not many people would." "It's the least I could do for a friend." A little foreshadowing of Remembrance of Things Past? Love it that he doesn't contradict her and say they are only business associates. lena_hope - Hey Tiff, I never tire of these tagalogues! This was the first time that I was able to see this episode, thanks to Columbia House and the first time I was able to get my hands on this tagalogue! It's great! I too must wonder, what exactly did Amanda see when she walked in that room? LOL! I love the Christmas cookies too! How sweet was that! Oh yeah, and, *sigh*, she felt his heartbeat beneath her hand! Perhaps that was a little foreshadowing on what Christmas future was to bring! I know I am looking forward to it! Thanks for these wonderful words of Christmas tidings! The perfect present to insight the joy of the season, even if it is two months away yet! Thanks a bunch! I am sure you are on Santa's Nice List for all of this good work you do with these tagalogues! MusicBox - A brand new tagalogue! YAY! LOVE Dotty here, she cracks me up. Asking if Lee is young and handsome. Umm ... YEAH! LOL! I can so see Amanda being like this as a child. Then, the first exchange between Lee and Amanda. So them. She's flustered, he's amused. (sigh) I'd love to have that image in my head. So, you're leaving it up to us individually to decide what was/wasn't under that robe? LOL! Well, personally, a glimpse of the Blue Boxers would be enough to send me straight to the hot tub. Oh, yeah, there already! LOL! I also love the ramble about the medication and him trying to interrupt her! LOL! He ... covered her hand with his and gave her a warm smile in return. "Thank you, Amanda." Yup, uh huh, that hot tub's gonna fill up FAST. OMGosh! That's just way too funny that Amanda is having trouble remembering Dean. "Poor" Dean! LOL! Hmmm ... weatherman ... spy. Boring ... exciting. Fishface ... drop dead gorgeous dimples. Said it before, I'll say it again ... hasta la vista Dean-y! (funny, I can't remember what he looks like either). You did an awesome job, as usual, Tiff! I love it. The whole feeling from the original flowed throughout. Like someone else said ... the look in his eyes! (sigh) smkukfan - Loved it Tiff ... like someone else said it's great to have a new one. Love it! I always love to hear from Dotty, especially when you write her, Tiff. Even while she's reminding Amanda about Dean, she's trying to fix her up with a stranger in the hospital. No, you really can't blame her for trying. LOL! Oh, good! Lee gets some company! Can't wait ... I'm trying to get the image of Lee with his robe open out of my mind, but it's not working. I'm having a seriously bad hot tub moment here. And I'm sure that's not what you were going for, were you, Tiff? This is a family show. I love first season Amanda, clumsy and nervous (I think I like her better than confident agent Amanda) but I loved the exchange about it being safe. Very in character, Tiff, and very much in tune with the original show. Awww. He really is glad to see her, even if he wouldn't admit it. Liked the leaning across him to pull the table over too - although I was slipping back into the hot tub for a second. Love her exit from the room too - all that stammering. Wonderful. YES! Gotta feel sorry for Dean don't you? No, I didn't think so ... You've got a better chance with Dotty, pal! Hasta la vista Dean-y! I think it's safe to conclude that I liked this one, Tiff. Like I didn't already know that. Thanks! Go to The Long Christmas Eve - Tagalogue
quiltmama - Great as usual! I hope you know we are all 'spoiled'! (grins) randibaby - Cute one Tiff! Poor Lee didn't know what he was in for by leaving her tied up! (wink!) daizy - That one was so good! I love when he didn't untie her, gave me a thought that he wanted to prolong her stay! cutenose - ''He may not be the neatest man in the world, but he always made certain his clothes looked good.'' He has that right! buffy - You know the really sad thing? If I could get my house to look like Lee's apartment, even 1st season (well minus the science experiments), it'd be a major improvement! ele - Tiff, you gotta keep writing these! Of course, there's no pressure. It's just that - if you DON'T write them - several people will show up at your door and force you to sit down at the keyboard and... NotExactly - This tagalogue is just what the show missed in its original tag. I love the way you have them bantering and teasing each other ... the basis for the deep friendship that develops between them. BillyBlueNote - Great job, Tiff! keep 'em coming! What's wrong with Lee's Apartment? Looks fine to me -- except for the science experiments! I have stacks of things everywhere, too. I guess it's time for spring cleaning! That means transferring the junk to cupboards. I think I need a 12 step program for Pack Rats. MusicBox - Oh I love this! I was ROFL at her ramble about the apartment! Too funny! Once again, you've done an awesome job. It definitely left me with a much better feeling than the TV TAG. I'm now looking forward to the next tagalogue as well! Oh, and as for pressure? Who? ME? LOL! I'd never do that! It was just a hint, yeah, that's it! ElioraJoy - "It was something he'd never had, and the desire for it had been buried beneath years of believing he never would." I thought this was an excellent description of Lee's feelings about normal. I also think that's why he's so excited about things in the episode where he's planning their home together ... The Man Who Died Twice. leeluvr2 - You may be totally tired of hearing this, but I have to tell you how much I look forward to your little stories each day. Lacking any new SMK shows, I love reading where the stories could have gone with an extra 5 or 10 minutes -- your characters are always so right on ! Thank you for all your work. It couldn't be easy to keep up with these every day. HeartPendant - I agree...it WOULD have been so much better (and juicier) if this was aired later in the series ... I enjoyed this ... so much better than the way they left us hanging in the tag ... I just have to say Tiff, Lee thoughts about his clothes just cracked me up! LOL! He may not be the neatest man in the world, but he always made certain his clothes looked good. LOL! Thanks! eeyore - Thanks for wrapping this one up for us, Tiff. I knew these two wouldn't let an opportunity like this go by without adding a little more flavor to the moment. (But I also would have liked to have seen this same scene later in the series ... ooh, interesting!) Love the Amandaramble she uses to get herself untied! And this is my favorite ... "She may talk alot, but somewhere in all of what she says is usually some good points...you just have to listen a long time before you figure it out!" I think you've hit the nail on the head with that one! Thanks again, Tiff! Jude4247 - I totally didn't expect the part with Lee leaving Amanda tied up. I loved how Amanda still used it to her advantage by talking her way out of it. Cracks me up how Lee couldn't leave her that way for long. I like how you have her making comments about Billy not being able to send him back out on a case and Lee saying that Billy would send Amanda instead. (haha) What a pair those two make, huh? Loved how Lee really cares about what Amanda says. How after she left he couldn't help considering all the comments that she made. He doesn't have a chance, she's got him hook, line and sinker already this early in the show! smkukfan - I liked the "You give up too easily" reference - I think they call that 'foreshadowing', making reference to something that will crop up later (several seasons later). Much better than the original episode tag. That was bad/weird - why? This, however, makes up for it all ... Like the imagery! The mention of being one of Lee's lady friends is too funny. Like the guy at the hotel wasn't bad enough - what must that doorman think is going on with the bindings, the dynamite, etc. I think she must be way up there in the embarassment stakes this episode. Gotta love her. "You wouldn't dare." Careful who you challenge to what Amanda ... I love it when she gives the lecture on how untidy his apartment is. Love the bit about the dirty dishes being mistaken for a school science project! ROTFLOL! Remarking about a little ramble making Lee give in. Way to go, Amanda ... keep him in his place! Now, for someone who is usually trying to get rid of her, asking Amanda to stay for dinner is a VERY interesting question ... Aww, nice ending. Thanks for giving this episode the ending it deserves. Go to Remembrance of Things Past - Tagalogue
Nightcrawler - Finally Lee! You're catching on! Great, Tiff. I wish that they could actually act out all of these tagalogues! randibaby - Thanks, Tiff! I needed that! I'm still creeped out that Lee *kissed* Eva. Ick! Carmine's was a perfect ending! Cute! Mort - Great job as always, Tiff! I think it's great that you generally write from Lee's point of view, something that the series very rarely did! eeyore - Especially love that he puts his arm around her shoulders "again." This was one of the subtle things I loved about the tagalogue in this one. Great job again, Tiff! HeartPendant - One of my least favorite episodes...because of you know who! However, your tagalogue made up for everything that was wrong with this episode! Thanks, Tiff! ptamom - Now if this had been the tag to the episode, I might have liked the episode a whole lot more. Your tagalogue gave it the final punch that it needed. Thank you once again. ScarecrowsAngel - Yeah, Eva bugged me too. Whenever I endure that scene I yell, "Wrong woman, Lee!" LOL! I can always imagine Amanda and Lee so well while reading your tagalogues, Tiff. More, please! Teal - I especially like "she bugged me". She bugged me TOO! LOL. Her obvious dislike of the nickname 'Mandy' was a good thing to expand on in your tagalogue. It's like you were reading her mind! LOL! NotExactly - Much more satisfying than the original ending. You took this episode a step farther, and made it so believable that I'm sure I'll one day go to my tape and wonder what happened to the real (your) tagalogue! KarenB01013 - That was cute. I enjoy your style and appreciate that you keep the humor intact when you write. I like that Amanda waved off Lee's thanks (that 'aw shucks, I didn't do much' attitude) and conveyed her extreme dislike of Eva. I don't know anyone who liked Eva. smkukfan - Favorites: Love Lee stammering his thanks to Amanda. Amanda shrugging off what she did "I didn't do that much" ... no, Amanda, you just saved Lee's life, saved Angelo's life, saw through Eva, made a poppyseed cake ... Amanda, I wanted to smack her, too! So pizza at Carmine's ... is this like another date? Assuming Monk's was the first? Love the nonchalant arm around the shoulders stuff, and her arm draped loosely around his back too. Getting warm just picturing it. Thanks, Tiff! Jude4247 - Okay, anytime that Lee thanks Amanda for help on a case and tells her she did a good job is "a good thing." Also a big plus when he thinks about how valuable she is to him. Even though he can't admit how he's feeling, he's thinking it! I liked the fact that Lee realizes that Eva's "love" was all a cover. She couldn't have loved him and served Russia and the KGB. Makes you feel even worse for Lee that he fell for someone like her. Really liked Amanda's, "She bugged me." Then Lee's, "Tell me how you really feel?" I can just hear Lee saying that. Perfect Amandaramble about Eva calling her Mandy. Her wanting to slap her and Lee wanting to "see that." LOL! Had to love Lee putting his arm around Amanda as they are leaving the junkyard and then Amanda putting her arm across his back. To paraphrase Amanda in Affair at Bromfield Hall "when two people care about each other, they want to touch each other." Uh, yep! MusicBox - THANK YOU TIFF! (sigh) That's better. Ugh, I had visions of Eva in my head last night! I loved the exchange (from "she bugged me" to "I wanted to smack her"). WAY too funny. And perfect! I BET Lee would have loved to see that! LOL! Had to love Lee putting his arm around Amanda as they are leaving the junkyard and then Amanda putting her arm across his back. To paraphrase Amanda in Affair at Bromfield Hall: "when two people care about each other, they want to touch each other." Uh, yep! He didn't touch Eva like that -- even when Angelo wasn't around. Lee's praise of her work was much needed, and her embarrassment was so sweet. This is great, Tiff. Lee and Amanda cooperated very well! * * (sigh) I think the only two people she would have resorted to that type of *violence* with (smacking) would be Eva and Magda! LOL! This makes the show more bearable! I like the approval from Lee, too. Awesome tagalogue, Tiff! Go to Lost and Found - Tagalogue
I am Not Now, Nor Have I Ever Been, a Spy! ele - "...there was no way she would have ever forgotten it ..." Absolutely Not! Scarecrow2001 - Thanks Tiff. That explains a lot about Dean, the mystery boyfriend. ElioraJoy - Thanks, Tiff! A great way to start the weekend. I'm so glad that Dean is over. nectar99 - Very good, Tiff! I like that Amanda was the one who left him shocked and speechless. graren - They just keep getting better, Tiff! You really have a feel for first season stuff. Good job. mkay - Tiff, this was good. I laughed in this one. I like Amanda's comebacks. They were funny. Keep up the good work. ele - "Because I don't know any incredibly handsome men," she replied succinctly. Very good ... even if she did back down... HeartPendant - Great tagalogue! I love the last paragraph...this is a great way to start the morning and the weekend! Thanks! mdmom - This was one of my favorite tagalogues you have written. It really flows right along with the original story. I'm still snickering. daizy - Oh! It is such a treat to read these every day. You really have the talent for doing this. I love them and am looking forward to more. quiltmama - "he is much to sure of himself" ... ain't that the truth ... at least in the first season! Really enjoyed this one Tiff! Great job! missevonne - Fabulous as always. You capture Amanda perfectly. Are you sure you're not Amanda. Possibly undercover on an assignment? LOL! eeyore - Another great job, Tiff! I'll reiterate one of my favorites... "...there was no way she would have ever forgotten it." There's no form of amnesia that strong! Teal - I like your take on this one ... and I like that you only use the sparsest amount of original dialogue. I like the 'tagalogues' that take a life of their own like this. Good job! NotExactly - I love your mention of Amanda's instincts. How can she question her ability to work for the Agency when her instincts led her to stop Di Gregorio even when she had amnesia? Loved your tagalogue! sharr - Another good one. I am thoroughly enjoying the tagalogues. Loved Amanda's "don't know any handsome men." Lee is such fun to put on the spot and you get the definite sense that not too many people can do it. abigfan - You finished this episode out so well ... again! So great how Amanda keeps Lee grounded ... "I don't know any handsome men" ... too funny! I could just see Lee's smile when she said she lied ... sigh. Loved it! buffy - You do great work Tiff! Your site is bookmarked! I enjoy them all even when I don't comment directly. Now when you get to the end of all 88 ... I'll start expecting full length original stories, you know... sierramaira - Tiff, great job as usual! The episodes always end with me wanting more and you have a great knack for picking it right up. It's always easy to picture Lee & Amanda doing and saying exactly what you write! arlington - Great jobs on the tagalogues. I read and enjoy them all, though I don't always comment on them. Please know that there are probably many lurkers out there silently enjoying them and looking forward to reading more. MrsKingWannabe - Very nice, Tiff! I could totally hear Amanda saying all those things. You have such a talent for writing for these characters as they are in each season. Amanda was so different in season 1 and 2. You certainly capture her spunk. Spyz'nTraining
- Just wanted to let you know how much my daughter and I enjoy your
tagalogues. This is kind of our own special mother-daughter only time
together, and we look forward to reading the forum together to see
what tagalogue you have for each episode. Thanks again! You have a
great website. Silver'Vette - Tiff, I haven't told you the last couple how much I am still enjoying these -- one of the first things I look for each morning. "I don't know any handsome men." I almost flipped when I first read this and then ROFL when I saw how well you finished it out back to this at the end! Keep 'em coming ... you make my day! smkgeek - OK Tiff tell us the truth. You used to be a writer for SMK, didn't you? You get the characters' dialogue perfect. I can just hear them talking and see the scene unfold. Even without the kissing, you make it so wonderful! You have to be a writer for the original series ... you are just "undercover" for a while as a fan. Right? SMK720 - Oh my! Reading about Lee's gaze traveling from Amanda's eyes to her mouth. Whew! If she had been involved with Lee or had any kind of an affair with him, there was no way she would have ever forgotten it. Heck, I just watch them and I can't forget it! Great dialogue, and you have Amanda down to a 'T'! Thanks for not making her wimpy! Great parting shot she gets off! Nightcrawler - Great! Awesome! Totally fabulous! Oops, sorry. I got a bit carried away. But this tagalogue will be one of my favorites. Hmmm. Looks like Lee's more in love than he wants to admit. He can't bear to see her leave him! Let's see... What is Amanda's type? How about a, "incredibly handsome" man who's tall, and has light hair with gorgeous hazel eyes and works as a spy for the US government. (grins) lena_hope - Tiff, you never cease to amaze me with these tagalogues! Awesome, wonderful, terrific, superb, fabulous, etc. As someone else stated, even without the Smooches, they are great! Amanda and Lee were definitely starting to appear in my mind's eye with their usual flirty banter! As usual your tagalogue gave me a perfect ending to an already good day after watching SMK! Thanks a bunch for the wonderful SMK writing! I look forward to reading the rest of these oh, so, SMacKy tagalogues! smkukfan - Another good one, Tiff! Haven't seen this one since the mid-80s but your tagalogue is still able to evoke mental pictures for me. I love Amanda putting Lee in his place, it's what he needs! You really have their relationship sewn up. Love the anti-Dean stuff too. Whatever happened to him? Who cares? The way Lee deliberately never gets his name right is great. Looking forward to the next one. "I don't know any incredibly handsome men." Yeah right! In that case, I wish I didn't either! Please Amanda, say you've decided to ditch Dean! Stick with Lee and the Agency! Awww ... I knew Lee was hooked! That momentary look of panic! So, what *is* Amanda's type? I'm sitting here with baited breath, Lee...Going with the awww thing again with Amanda being disappointed that there wasn't anything between her and Lee. Like this one Tiff, very true to the characters and the episode but a great continuation. Thanks! Jude4247 - Tiff, I haven't been able to stop laughing at the ending of this one. So good! I've always loved how Amanda could bring him down a few notches. I feel like some of the reason she did that was because she was trying to fight her attraction to him and some of it was because he was so arrogant and sure of himself in the first season. When you have Amanda at the beginning telling Lee she doesn't "know any handsome men," and Lee thinks "I can't believe she could stand there and say that with a straight face." Classic! I love it! What Lee says about Amanda possibly breaking up with Dean: "It's for the best." Too funny. I also liked how you always seem to have what Lee's thinking down pat. You're so right on, in my opinion. He doesn't want to admit that he needs her, and that she was his "partner." And the ending ... well, I totally cracked up. Howling with laughter. You have got these characters pegged! MusicBox - Oh, Lee, you're SO hooked. Give it up! One thing was certain. If she had been involved with Lee or had any kind of an affair with him, there was no way she would have ever forgotten it. Oh yeah! I agree. There's no way she would have forgotten a *thing* with Lee! These just keep getting better, Tiff! You're getting the playfulness and teasing down just right without crossing that line. I LOVE this one! Here's to emotional complications! LOL! I just love how she gets the better of him! She's usually the one embarrassed at this point and this was just great. The look of panic was priceless. ...not emotionally involved. Yeah, Lee, whatever ... I like her reasoning away Dean, too. You know, he was conspicuously absent when she got hurt. I hate that they cut the scene when she said "Dean who?" to her Mom! ROFL! And the manners thing again! I love it! Anytime she gets him about his manners is just too cute. You'd think with his military upbringing, as *refined* and well-travelled as he is, and his need to impress, he'd be a lot more well-mannered than he is. Maybe he's just too comfortable with her? Go to I Am Not Now, Nor Have I Ever Been ... A Spy - Tagalogue
Teal - Very cute, Tiff. We had company last night, so I couldn't get on to read...and I felt...well, so incomplete! LOL. Had to start my day off right! buffy - I have your site bookmarked to enjoy them again and again! I thought I'd read this one before but, now don't think so, so I for one, am glad you took the time to put it up! lovesamk - Tiff, GREAT job! I don't always comment, but I do read and most certainly enjoy your tagalogues. Love your website and most definitely the screen captures. Keep up the great work! HeartPendant - Sweet dreams indeed...And so it starts...LOL! She grabbed his keys again. He really should learn to break that habit! Tiff, you must be a great cook and a caregiver! You know the best recipes and the best way to 'improvise.' SMK720 - Aww! Glad someone's taking care of Lee! I'd have offered to give him a Vaporub rub down. LOL! I read these all the time, Tiff! Don't stop posting them, this week was busy and I'm just getting through the list now! I love your tagalogues! katie - Tiff, another great job. I was just as fascinated as Lee was by her actions in the kitchen. Is that a tried and true remedy? Tell it again... boil the fruit in how much water? Just cut and put the fruit and rind in and then down it? Love that she gets caught. Should have figured Magda would tattle tail. Thanks! matahari2 - Another great one, Tiff!! My favorite part: "My hair always looks great. I make sure of it." I always enjoyed the teasing and safe-distance flirtation between Lee & Amanda through seasons 1-2. (of course, that distance shortened considerably in season 3--LOL!) You add just the right ''dessert'' to each episode...these are so much fun to read! Thanks again, Tiff! MusicBox - ''I hope you and Mrs. King,'' she said with disdain as she looked at Amanda, ''get well soon.'' She turned and walked off. ROFL! Amanda just managed to tick off her first *baby*! And she wasn't trying. Go Amanda! Somehow, the thought of Lee, in a tux, drying dishes is very ... nice. Kind of like the way Lee's legs are ... nice. Oh My Gosh! ROFL! He got her back for the *handsome men* comment! Way too funny. I can see him a *bit* ticked off at that comment from her at first. So, did Magda tell him about her beautiful eyes comment? Hmmm ... Well worth the *wait* Tiff! I hope they get better for the next one! smkukfan - Well done Tiff! See? Other people are starting to notice, already! Getting a little forward now, aren't we Mrs King? Inviting Lee inside? How can Lee fight that? The keys in the ignition ... is this the first time? I can't remember. Magda's sick! LOL! I'm grinning too! Love the reference to a stronger drink! Very Lee! Drying dishes? Getting domesticated are we Lee? Oops! ROTFLOL now, Tiff! Loved the way Lee got back at Amanda about the "handsome men" comment with his, "my hair always looks great" comment. He does, after all, have very nice hair ... except for those episodes with the strange side parting. Eyes are good whenever! He just puts it out there and leaves ... like Amanda in the previous one - The Mole! Love it! Jude4247 - Have to agree with some others that loved the part when Lee brings up the comment about his hair. "My hair always looks great. I make sure of it." That is obvious, the man has gorgeous hair. I cannot believe that Magda told Lee that Amanda said that though. I would be furious! Always cracks me up in the episode how uncomfortable Amanda is about Magda asking, ''you find Mr. Stetson attractive, no?'' haha See, she just couldn't NOT list what she found attractive about him ''feature for feature.'' I also liked how you keep bringing things up that go along with what we know about the characters from other episodes. Like Lee leaving his keys in the ignition and Amanda talking about him not having any food in his apartment. I like that you have the knack for bringing up recurring themes. I like the fact that Amanda is taking such good care of Lee in this story. It's cute and so with Amanda's character. I like how she sends him home with a bag with honey and tea bags. I can see Amanda doing that. A part my imagination found intriguing was the talk about Vapor Rub. I just got this visual of Amanda rubbing some on Lee's chest to help him breathe.....okay, my mind is back outta the hot tub....I think Lee probably got a visual of Amanda and the Vapor Rub. haha (I have an over-active imagination, what can I say?) It also makes you feel sad that Lee didn't have his mother around as a kid, to take such good care of him, like Amanda does with Philip and Jamie.
