I love how this fits into what's happening and how you convey his trying to be nonchalant about it. Your portrayal of how they both know things are changing but aren't quite sure about it yet fits so well into this episode. A great opener for the third season! smkukfan - I really enjoyed this one. "So, why are we whispering?" "That's a very good question, Mrs. King!" LOL! ... I like how they talk about her like she's not there and she gets annoyed. Way to defend Amanda, Harry! Aww, isn't Harry such a good guy? You can see why Lee likes him. Harry definitely likes Amanda! ... hehe! I love the part with the cyanide capsule, and how Billy tells Amanda to help him out IF he doesn't use it! Hmm? Lee? Would you like to field that question about whether or not Amanda is working in the Q-Bureau with you? ... Perhaps Harry can have a word with cupid? I mean Billy? ... You know, I want to know EXACTLY what Lee was saying with that silent look to Harry! ... Great! No problem, huh? A hint of something else? Oh, rats, it's gone now. Hmm, where did I put the ice? Ohh, Lee pretending like he had no idea what Amanda was saying. He is so mean! "Harry was right you know," he suddenly said. "I would." Aww, he did say it! We knew that anyway! Wonderful! I had to tape yesterday's episode with bad reception, so I was thrilled, thrilled, thrilled to see so much of the episode in your tagalogue. You are so good at what you do! eeyore - GREAT one, Tiff! I've missed your tagalogues so much, and look at the one I choose to read when I finally return! If you'd wrapped this one up and mailed it, I couldn't think of a better gift. The chemistry between Lee and Amanda can no longer be excused away. I think Amanda having a brief relationship with Alan allowed her to feel she was desirable and Lee realized that if he didn't act, he could lose her. You answered one of the most unanswered questions from the series. What happened at the Verdi Festival? I mean, Lee actually asks her out and we are left to imagine what happened! I will admit I always wanted the date to act as if it were at the end of the 3rd season, rather than here at the start. However, you were true to canon not letting it go too fast, but showing just enough to make our spies go "hmm" ... about each other! Thank you again for this treat! lena_hope - Tiff, your tagalogues make every episode better. In fact, after each episode, I can't wait to get online to see how they truly end. When I said you were the master, you truly are. I am beginning to question if you are not one of the originals. Hey! You never know! I gotta say they were together one of the best fanfics I've read. You do an incredible job of staying true to canon, voicing the characters, pacing the story, capturing the essence of the show and overall writing. So many things in this one to mention: the tear of remembrance of her father, his comforting, his thoughts before biting into his steak, her 'gotcha' tease, their falling asleep, her embarrassment of that... I could go on and on. All of these made for a poignant, funny and truly enjoyable read. I'm so glad you do these for us! Ann - I really enjoyed this story. It's funny that another story was posted and set around the same time frame. Your two stories were very different (but both good)! I think you did a good job of keeping them in character. I could see and hear them saying the lines you gave them. I liked that you showed how different it would be for them to have an evening with 'no shop talk' ... something they really hadn't had up to that point. I only have one nitpick. From what we saw in Unfinished Business, Lee did not know that his parents were agents before that episode. He did know his dad worked for the Army in some capacity but he seemed totally shocked when he read the report on his mother. Other than those two, I really enjoyed it. Nice job! Chris
- This is a very insightful story on how their evening could have
been. I like it how you wrote this whole piece from Lee's pov. How
in the beginning he is worried about what to talk about and then showing
that Amanda has the same worries. I love the exchange about why Elizabeth
couldn't be the type to plant the bomb. Especially the follow up!
I love how he baits her here to the defense of the suburban mom and
then deflates her by agreeing with her. This is just too cute. Great
topic for an evening with no shop talk. Nice way to lead from the
records to comparing the parents. Lee knew
this was going to be one of the longest evenings he'd ever spent.
Yeah, the evening was so long they both fell asleep. That
was a cute idea, especially to have them realizing the depth of their

I like how Amanda seems to touch his tie or jacket very unconsciously and then seems to catch herself. I love when he teases her. He knows her so well, because that would be "his Amanda". Lee just took both of her hands in his and began lightly running his thumb across the back of her fingers. See, he does know her "likes" a little too well!
